The Gem Room is a hidden jewel tucked away in Middleton, Christchurch, within the warehouse and working studio of The Event Boutique — Wedding and Event planners and Stylists known for their love of creating beautiful romantic settings. Elevated above the studio floor, this intimate mezzanine space has been transformed into a whimsical setting designed for small-scale celebrations and Elopements.
As you ascend the staircase, metallic silver beaded curtains shimmer softly, offering a subtle sense of theatre and setting the tone for what awaits above. The Gem Room reveals itself as a beautifully layered, romantic interior — styled with giant flowers, lush suspended greenery, artificial florals climbing across the ceiling, and French vintage chandeliers. Opulent Chinoiserie wallpaper creates a backdrop that feels both whimsical and refined. Every detail has been considered to create a space that feels intimate and entirely unexpected.
